Applicants must be Italian nationals who have carried out research in a Third Country for at least 3 years in the last 4 years prior to the call deadline.

The research fellowship is awarded in order to carry out the research project in the INAF structure freely chosen by the applicant.
Funding per fellowship
The employment contract for the Incoming and Re-integration fellows will fix an yearly reference rate for monthly living allowances of 40.000 EUR/year. This amount includes the provisions for all compulsory deductions under national applicable legislation (Law 20 December 2010, n. 240, art. 22).
Fellows are entitled to two travel allowances.
The first travel allowance shall be paid first upon taking up appointment. The second one will be paid at the beginning of the second year of the fellowship.
Each one of the two travel allowances amounts to 1500 EUR and it is subject to national applicable deductions, irrespective of the actual travel costs incurred by the researcher.
Research cost contribution
The host INAF structure will receive from INAF headquarters a yearly amount of 5.000 Euro for the benefit of the fellow. This amount will be used for any expense needed to carry out the project, including travel expenses for the annual meetings.
It will be paid by INAF in favour of the fellow, to provide coverage for work accidents, occupational diseases and invalidity.
Researchers who receive an AstroFIt grant are considered as Marie Curie Fellows.
